John started Invisible Gold in 2001 to create software that enables a small business to have a site that looks custom made, yet is easy to maintain for the non-technical user. Website owners are free to create pages, send email newsletters, sell products, manage member directories, track visitors and more. "I want to make it easy for a busy or non-technical user to have a great website that they can maintain themselves." - John Waiveris A website is especially important for small and home based businesses because they often not have the time or budget to pay a web-designer to manage a site. John feels that an online presence levels the market and shows that one does not need a fancy office to sell a product or service. Early on, Invisible Gold marketed mostly through word of mouth. Today, Invisible Gold is reaching new customers as larger organizations such as The Reminder Press in Massachusetts have begun offering Invisible Gold powered sites to their customers. With this new development, Invisible Gold is quickly transitioning into more of a software company than a hosting/web design company. In 2004, Invisible Gold won a Connecticut Center for Quality Improvement Innovation award, and several of its clients have won awards in this past year for their websites. "I work very closely with every one of our resellers. They have proven themselves to be very capable web designers and hosts with a focus on customer service. " -- John Waiveris Earlier this year, Invisible Gold was recognized nationally by the Environmental Protection Agency as one of 420 organizations in the "Green Power Leadership Club". Since 2006, the company has run on 100% renewable wind power. "One of our customers encouraged us to research renewable energy. Once I learned how inexpensive and easy it is, there was no choice. Today I compete in gas mileage competitions and talk about green energy any chance I get." -- John Waiveris On a personal side, John is active in the community. He gives presentations, volunteers at the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, and hosts a segment of Windsor Today - a monthly television show about the Windsor community. John also partnered with HostingCT.com to design the Windsor Chamber of Commerce website (www.windsorcc.org), which won a 2006 national merit award. John donates roughly 10% of the company's resources to support people and businesses that are work to make a positive difference in fields such as clean energy, eliminating world hunger, and encouraging children to be active. John is a resident of Windsor, Connecticut. For more information about Invisible Gold, LLC, visit www.invisiblegold.com or call (860) 285-0172.
