M 119  Precalculus with Trigonometry
Algebra and geometry have their roots in ancient times. But the merging of algebra and geometry to form analytic geometry by Rene Desacrte and Pierre de Fermat in the early 1600s led to the creation of calculus within a generation. Portions of the appendix, la geometrie, to Descarte's Discourse read much like a modern algebra text.
