Cut-The-Knot This is a really great site that has all kinds of great mathematics and applets. There are over 700 entries and applets. I haven't had much chance to explore it yet. But we just found it in class (4/26/06). Actually, Tomi gets the credit for finding it while looking for an applet on the Cantor function.

Eric"s Treasure Trove of Life Eric Weisstein is perhaps best known for his work which led to the creation of Math World on the wolfram site. In fact, Math World is formerly known as Eric's World of mathematics. This site by Eric Weisstein is all about life. The artificial life that had its origins in John Conway's Game of Life.

Julia and Mandelbrot Set Explorer This is a nice site that has good information on Julia sets, Mandelbrot sets, Newton Basins and Circle Inversions. It also draws nice pictures of these sets. Fractal explorer has more power, draws more kinds of sets and allows you to modify the color so we will make use of both programs.

Mathworld This is a cool site. It contains Math World, formerly known as Eric's Wonderful world of Mathematics by Eric Weisstein. It contains 1000s of mathematical items and is constantly expanding. I met Eric at a conference once. He was energetic and full of enthusiasm for math. He was handing out little clear bumper stickers with equations.

Yale Fractals Page This is a collection of pages meant to support a first course in fractal geometry for students without especially strong mathematical preparation, or any particular interest in science. Each of the five pages contains examples of fractals in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.
