The '08 Fall IFS Assignment and Competition is underway. Check out the images in the galleries just opened and start working on images for your gallery.
This page is for the use of students in Dr. Waiveris's math classes at CCSU.

Notice to all students. The '08 Fall IFS Gallery is open for posting images. There have already been several good images posted in three new galleries. The first part of the IFS assignment with instructions for creating and posting images is attached to a note on your class page. There is a special bonus for images posted by Monday. There is also a special 10 point bonus for the first IFS pumpkin. I am, of course, the ultimate decision maker in what is and is not a pumpkin. As always, I have an insatiable hunger for images. Just make sure, however, that the images you post are in .gif format.

Notice to M 119 students-- The tutoring schedule for Fall 08 has been attached to a note on your class page.

I hope that you had a great summer. During the break I did a little cleaning up. All of the IFS Galleries created in 2008 have been moved to the 2005-2008 IFS Galleries page. The 2008 Spring Classes page has been moved to the Previous Classes page.

Check out the pictures on the page titled Ted's Amphicar. The ride I got in it was really neat.

IFS 3.0 is now available for download and testing. This upgrade of IFS 2.0 can be used to create animations. You will still need a program like GIF Construction Kit (which I use) to convert the .bmp images to .gif images and animate the images. But it is pretty neat. Check out the IFS animations gallery below to see some examples.

FYI--All of the textbooks that will be used in the courses offered by the Department of Mathematical Sciences this semester are listed on the Department's homepage which can be accessed by going to the CCSU homepage. This should help you shop around to find the best price as well as get a head start on a course.

IFS 2.0 is free and available to any person or institution that would like to use it. Any person or institution that downloads a copy is also welcome to make it free and available to any other people or institutions that would like to use it. To download a free copy of IFS 2.0 and get in on the fun yourself go to the downloads page. There is also a gallery of 50 sample images with the transformations below.
