Suffield Country Club Enhances Membership Communication with Invisible Gold
The historic town of Suffield is home to the beautiful and exclusive Suffield Country Club, featuring a golf course, tennis courts, and swimming pool. With plenty of activities to promote and coordinate, Suffield CC could benefit from an informative, easy-to-use Website. Their existing website, however, was not only embarrassing to the club, it was difficult to update and thus seldom visited by the members. All content changes were sent to a Webmaster, which delayed their appearance on the Website and generated errors that only took more time to correct.

When Suffield CC decided to create a new site, they were looking for a clean and clear design, an easy and quick method to update information, and a way to enhance their community information exchange. Invisible Gold offered the features to meet their goals, plus the flexibility to create new communications tools.

The new Suffield Website is now easily updated by each of the departments within the Suffield CC. It has become routine for the golf shop to add tournaments, post event descriptions and photos, and allow members to read about events online. The tennis pro manages all the tennis news and swimming schedules are quickly changed weekly. This means that members rely on the Website to keep them up-to-date and the Suffield CC management has a reliable way to inform most members about the club events.

Even better, Invisible Gold has additional features, which build community awareness for the country club. A shared calendar is now operational that is updated by each department on a regular basis. Members can search by event type or date.

“The calendar is one of the most popular features of the Website because members can avoid conflicts,” said John Roche. “For example, golfers can see that there is a swim meet on the same day as their tournament and plan to park early.”

Another feature of Invisible Gold saves the club time and money with their monthly newsletters. Instead of assembling articles by members, re-keying them into a publishing program, and having them copied at $600 per newsletter, club managers create and send newsletters online, inside the Invisible Gold Website. Members are asked to email their articles to the site. Invisible Gold automatically assembles the information and generates a newsletter that can be emailed or printed. Since most members can receive email versions, printing costs are small and the newsletters are distributed more widely and read by more members.

“We have finally entered the 21st Century with our Website,” said John Roche. Invisible Gold has made it so easy to manage and use, that the Suffield CC Website is now the center of our community.”
